Marc D. Goldstein, CEO

Marc is the co-founder of Covington Realty Partners. He is responsible for the day-to-day management, overseeing all aspects of Covington's operations, including its acquisitions, development and asset management. Marc has more than 20 years of real estate experience, specifically in the acquisitions, development, and repositioning of multifamily and retail properties. During his career, Marc structured over $2,000,000,000 of real estate transactions.

Marc is on the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Real Estate Investment Securities Association (REISA), Home Builders Association, a fellow at the Aspen Institute, and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM). Marc is a member of YPO; he is a board member and founder of the Aspen, Colorado Chapter. Marc is an executive committee member and Treasurer of Jazz Aspen, a 501c3 created to fund music education in Pitkin counties Roaring Fork Valley. Marc is an alumnus of the University of Illinois and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

David Brown, President

David oversees all aspects of asset and property management for Covington including leasing, budgeting and property operations. In addition, David assists Marc with setting Covington’s short and long term goals and strategies.

Prior to joining Covington in the Spring of 2010, David was Vice President of Client Development at General Growth Properties, Inc. (“General Growth”), a publicly traded real estate investment trust, focusing on regional shopping malls in the United States. He also served as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for General Growth.

David also worked for The Rouse Company, a real estate investment trust that owned and managed regional malls nationwide that was acquired by General Growth in 2004; RREEF, a real estate investment management business operated by Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management division; and Urban Retail Properties, LLC, a company that develops and manages regional malls, community centers, mixed-use projects, office buildings, and government real estate. As a result, he has more than 20 years of experience in retail real estate.

David received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.

Stephen White, Senior Vice President

Steve is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Covington’s property management including budgeting, construction/capital projects and tenant relations. Prior to joining Covington in June 2010,Steve was the Director of National Operations for General Growth.

Prior to this, he was the Division Vice President for Service Management Systems, a provider of housekeeping and maintenance programs for high-traffic, public facilities (300,000 to 1,500,000 square feet) located in the United States and Regional Operations Representative for The Rouse Company. Steve has more than 20 years of property management experience with a focus on shopping centers and mixed-use properties, and has overseen approximately 100 properties consisting of over 70 million square feet.

Steve holds a Real Property Administrator Designation conferred by BOMI International and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois.

Julia Klaeren, Controller

Julia is responsible for overseeing all of Covington’s financial operations including property accounting, financial reporting to investors and corporate reporting.

Prior to joining Covington in June 2009, Julia was an Audit Director for the Altschuler, Melvoin, and Glasser, LLP and McGladrey and Pullen, LLP, public accounting and consulting firms. While working for these accounting firms, she was responsible for the audits of both SEC-registered and privately held entities. In addition, Julia assisted with client workout assignments, property due diligence, and special purpose audits. Julia has more than 18 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate.

She has been a Certified Public Accountant since August 1993. Julia is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. In addition, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.

Lea Boussios, Vice President, Investor Services

Lea oversees all investor service functions, including distribution of information to investors and management of the investor reporting website in addition to transactional and legal functions. She is the main point of contact for all investors and clients. Lea is also involved in the leasing of the Covington portfolio.

Prior to joining Covington in 2007, Lea directed acquisitions at CARE Corporation, where she specialized in the acquisition of distressed assets through the foreclosure process. Prior to that, she was National Sales Manager at Resurgence Financial, where she played a key role in forming the division of debt portfolio sales nationwide.

Lea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern Illinois University and has been a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois since 2007.

David Braswell, Partner, Covington Construction, LLC.

David has been involved in the planning, developing and construction of real estate for over 38 years. Since 1983, Dave has completed the construction of 56 new apartment communities in nine states totaling more than 15,000 units and has renovated more than 5,400 units.

Trained as an architect, David also served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. In the Air Force’s base civil engineering office, David was responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction work on Air Force bases. After completing his tour of duty, David went on to hold senior construction positions at some of the country’s best known public and private real estate companies.

John Porta, Partner, Covington Development, LLC.

John has been developing, constructing, and managing real estate for over 30 years. Prior to founding Covington Development LLC, John was a founder/partner of MLP Development. MLP was ranked as the nation’s 18th-largest multifamily builder (NAHB’s Builder 100 ranking). During MLP’s 10 year growth, John constructed over 7,000 units throughout the country.

Prior to forming MLP, John was the President and owner of Porta Properties, a real estate development and brokerage firm specializing in the acquisition and rezoning of residential subdivisions and the construction of homes.

Previously, John was a Partner in INVEST, a national multifamily development company where he was responsible for all project development, site selection, construction budgeting, expediting and negotiation of all related contracts.

John attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri, and received an AMDP from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Brian Kennedy, Partner, Covington Development, LLC.

Brian Kennedy is responsible for evaluating investment and development opportunities at Covington Realty Partners.

Prior to joining Covington, Brian was a vice president at The Michelson Organization where his responsibilities included identifying new acquisitions and securing debt and equity financing for both new acquisitions and existing properties. He has worked with public REIT's as well as many institutional and private capital providers. During his career, Brian has completed real estate transactions totaling approximately $650 million, which included acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing and recapitalizations.

He graduated from the University of Michigan Business School in 2003 with a double concentration in accounting and finance.
